This time it saved a certificate www.noc.unipr.it which is crt format 1.7kB, instead the old certificate vpn.unipr.der is binary, der format, 1.2 kb. To convert use
openssl x509 -in www.noc.unipr.it -out vpn.unipr.der -outform DER
- to produce a unicode charcter (e.g. lambdabar), both in terminal and in LO-impress: Shift+Ctrl+u (release, an underlined u appears) 019B the character appears upon pressing the last key in the four character string. - sometimes printing problems:
- Libreoffice sees no credit. Possible cause: passwords are wrong or unset, correct all by
sudo vim /etc/cups/printers.conf sudo service cups restart
- evince requires password instead of using the printer settings. (see below)
- printer under LibreOffice: symptom prints ultra-small with plain postscript driver; solution made new printer with TASKalfa_3551ici.PPD downloaded from the Kyocera site. Now prints also in color and right size. Reinstalling the printer from scratch (windows samba, with use PPD driver) did the job.

- reboot on 14.04, sudo passwd root to create root, apt-det update, apt-get upgrade to be updated (now the loader is on the HD with 13.10, /dev/sda)
- doesn't boot, booted from 13.10, sudo update-grub, sudo grub-install (recognizes 14.04 on SSD and adds it)
- installed Ubuntu 10.04 with /dev/sdb as boot loader, /dev/sdb1 as /
- GParted SSD by hand, /dev/sdb ad DOS, one partition 244 GB ext4, one swap 8 GB
- Installed from USB on SSD on caddy. To mount on caddy remove the plastic spacer at the opposite end to the connector, unscrew all fixing screws out of the way, slide the SDD in place, replace the spacer and fix with the screws. Had to open all the back, HD lid first, docking connector also, there is a screw holding the CDROM to its own connector. Need to swap HDD and SSD after initial 14.04 setup.
