Change passwd every 6 months.
- to update passwd every 6 months go to https://pw.psi.ch BEFORE the pwd expires! Straightforward from there.
- then visit thunderbird ext-derenz_r@psi.ch, it will produce a firefox Microsoft login request with the new pwd (do immediately, otherwise forget and not clear which pwd to use)
- New linux connections (as of 10-05-24) redefined in .ssh/config
ssh hop, requires password (see HELP) and a fingerprint requested by sms on cell, leave open on that terminal (lasts 12 hours)
ssh gps (user l_musr_tst, traditional password) works, same for hal, privoxy (mpc, mpc0 have other passwords, and dolly is not responding)
ssh pc12438 (user nemu) works, same for pc12439
- klog ext-derenz_r passwd, doesn't work any more (09/2024), see @@/psi.ch/user/e/ext-derenz_r/ that contains most stuff from pc12439 see help nemu
- New MFA use from Private browsing!!! to avoid ending up in unipr domain. Do so also for web mail on outlook psi.
- contacted helpdesk on telephone 18/03/2024. Receiving an sms (ok!), reply with copy of CIE. Will receive a password.
- Reset on cpwd.psi.ch as usual. Then set mail forward to unipr on outlook, see above, in order to get back usual reminders.
- Each year must warn Hubertus to reenable my user account on 31/12. It expires in January. In 2024 Toni did this

Passwort Reset Tool
Due to the replacement of the SMS gateway (from 12.12.2022), users who have entered a cell phone number
(e.g. 0791234567@sms.switch.ch) as an alternative mail address must enter a new mail address in the Password Manager.
The new address for receiving passwords via SMS on the smartphone is:
mobilnummer@swissphone-gateway.com (ex. 0791234567@swissphone-gateway.com).
The same formats are still allowed (with country code or without).
If this mail address is not adjusted, no more SMS can be delivered for the "forgotten password" function as of 12.12.2022.
The PW Manager can be accessed on the intranet under Services & Tools, via the Self Service Portal
in SNOW or directly via https://pwreset.psi.ch/.
- Aug 2022 openafs not working even after restart. As a matter of fact kernel is now the most recent, 5.15. Solved by the ENEA recipe

- Connect to "hop.psi.ch" with SSH and change the password with "kpasswd".
- Need to do it twice, needs an entirely new the first day, then you cannot change again for that day. Come back next day to change to standard sequence (see help psi pc34).
