- give user unipr mail password see HELP MATLAB_MATHWORKS, then write the suggested link in the browser to produce an OTP and paste it again in place of the password
- from there it follows gingerly
- remain logged into mathworks (i.e. do not log out, even if you go offline)

- use Matlab License Center
- click on not working license, then on Tab Install and Activate, then on right Activate to Retrieve License File
- see list of activated computer, pc34, deactivate it if not working, then select 2013b linux and insert macaddress as HOST(the cable ethernet address starting with
48:65:..
- save license.lic on Download and
sudo cp it in /usr/local/MATLAB/R2013b/licenses/
- check that eth0 is the name of
48:65:.. by ifconfig , if not restart, /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules should do it (i.e. associate the name eth0 to the HWaddr 48:65:..
- it worked now that
48:65:.. was the first up at boot, because of a cable connected to the pc.
- I checked by rebooting at the Dept with cable disconnected, the net took some time to recognize the alternative eduroam DHCP wireless and eth0 as assigned to the cable interface
- I suspect that when DHCP wireless takes over instantly interface
9c:b6:.. wireless might steal the eth0 name. In this case the active license would not work
- Therefore now I activated two licenses for the two interfaces, both stored in
/usr/local/MATLAB/R2013b/licenses/ . It should work with either wireless or cable.
